Manzanita Ball Club is located at 41st Avenue and Butler in Phoenix, Arizona. The Club was established in 1965. We have steadily grown since then and now are a non-profit organization of 400-500 boys and girls ages 4-16, participating in spring/summer and fall leagues of tee-ball, softball and baseball. We depend solely on sponsors, registration fees, snack bar sales and donations to pay the expenses of our Club. Some of these expenses include: insurance, uniforms, utilities, awards, umpires, fencing, and equipment. We are constantly trying to improve our Club, from both the safety aspect as well as the fun aspect, for all our players and fans.
We currently have eight different divisions and seven fields with Fields 1 & 2 being lighted.
Fall Season games are played on Saturday Mornings for all divisions except Majors that play on Friday evenings.
CO-ED Tee-Ball- Field #7
Boys and Girls must be age 4 before January 1st of the registration year, Boys 4 & 5 and Girls 4, 5, & 6 year olds are eligible to play.
PEE WEE GIRLS- Field #3
Girls must be age 6 before January 1st of the registration year. 6, 7, 8 & 9 year olds are eligible to play. Machine pitch.
MINOR GIRLS- Field #2
Girls must be age 10 before January 1st of the registration year. 10, 11 & 12 year olds are eligible to play.
MAJOR GIRLS- Field #2
Girls must be age 13 before January 1st of the registration year. 13 through 16 year olds are eligible to play.
PEE WEE BOYS- Field #4
Boys must be age 6 before January 1st of the registration year. 6 & 7 year olds are eligible to play. Machine pitch.
JUNIOR BOYS- Field #5
Boys must be age 8 before January 1st of the registration year. 8 & 9 year olds are eligible to play.
MINOR BOYS- Field #1 & 5
Boys must be age 10 before January 1st of the registration year. 10, 11 & 12 year olds are eligible to play.
MAJOR BOYS- Field #1
Boys must be age 13 before January 1st of the registration year. 13, 14, 15 & 16 year olds are eligible to play.
While visiting the ball fields we do remind you that there is no smoking on ball park (school) grounds.
We realize we have limited parking but must remind everyone that you must not park on the west side of 41st Avenue where the NO PARKING signs are located. This has become a very significant problem for the ball club and we may even lose our field privileges if fans continue to park there.
INFORMATION FOR THOSE IN NEED
There are three regularly scheduled registration dates. Those players who sign up on one of these dates are guaranteed to be placed on a team and also have the choice of remaining on the same team or going into the draft to be selected by another team.
Anyone signing up after the last regular registration will be placed on a waiting list and be charged the full registration fee plus an additional $10.00 fee. Before being placed on the waiting list, the full registration fee plus the $10.00 late fee must be paid in full. After being placed on the waiting list, players will be placed as openings become available. If not placed, a refund will be given.
Held after the last regular registration date and before draft day! All coaches and assistants must be present! They receive rules; select practice days; and are informed of any rules changes for the upcoming season.
Usually the Saturday before practice season begins. All first time players and returning players who desire to go back in the draft will be drafted on a team. Players need to arrive at the ball park 30 minutes prior to their scheduled start time. Players who do not sign up on a scheduled registration date are not drafted, but placed on the waiting list and placed as openings become available.
Teams are required to work the Snack Bar at least once each season. Two to three workers per shift. Two shifts per night. 5:00 to 7:30pm and 7:30 to 10:00pm. NO CHILDREN UNDER 16 ARE ALLOWED TO WORK!!

Two weeks before and the Saturday before the regular season begins. Coaches, Parents and Players are needed to help get the fields ready for play. Power tools and hand tools needed. The playing fields are only as good as EVERYONE makes them!!!
Players must wear uniform and arrive at the Snack Bar 15 to 30 minutes prior to picture time. All players receive the basic picture package, however there are other packages available to purchase if desired.
Regular season 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place trophies except Tee-Ball. Teams that do not finish in the top three places receive participation trophies/awards/medals. All Tee-Ball players receive a trophy. 1st place in each division tournament receive a trophy.
Double elimination tournament in each division, including Tee-Ball.
Manzanita Ball Club aims to give boys and girls an opportunity to play ball under conditions where their health, safety, and welfare are the first considerations. The primary purpose of the league is for fun, recreation and baseball/softball education, with an emphasis on sportsmanship.
