Manzanita Ball Club is located at 41st Avenue and Butler in Phoenix, Arizona. The Club was established in 1965. We have steadily grown since then and now are a non-profit organization of 400-500 boys and girls ages 4-16, participating in summer leagues of tee-ball, softball and baseball. We depend solely on Sponsors, Registration fees, Sno-Cone Booth sales and Donations to pay the expenses of our Club. Some of these expenses include: Insurance, uniforms, utilities, awards, umpires, fencing, and equipment. We are constantly trying to improve our Club, from both the safety aspect as well as the fun aspect, for all our players and fans.
We have eight different leagues and seven fields with fields 1 & 2 being lighted.
Games are played on weekday evenings at either 6:00 or 8:00pm. On occasion there may be Saturday games.
We use association umpires for all leagues except for the pee wee leagues.

MBC aims to give boys and girls an opportunity to play ball under conditions where their health, safety, and welfare are the first considerations. The primary purpose of this league is for fun, recreation and baseball/softball education with an emphasis on sportsmanship.
MBC is currently recruiting volunteer “Auxiliary Board Members” needed to assist MBC in fulfilling the many obligations and responsibilities required to successfully complete the playing season.
Many people may not realize it but MBC is an all volunteer organization, and without the help of our volunteers we simply could not operate. For your information, MBC has been in operation since 1965 and currently is responsible for 40+ teams with approximately 500+ players. This has all been accomplished by volunteers.
Unlike the time commitments required of fully functioning Board Members, the time commitments for our auxiliary members will be much less, and will in fact depend on your availability. We hope that by being flexible and lessening the time commitments, we can encourage greater participation and better representation from parents, family members, guardians, relatives, significant others, etc.
An Auxiliary Board Member might be asked to assist in any of the following key areas: Snack Bar operations, trash pickup, fields and maintenance, phone volunteers, parking monitors, security, compliance, field day, coach’s night, picture day, or any other area(s) where volunteers are needed.
MBC would work with your schedule and/or you could be on call for urgently needed help, like a shortage of volunteers in the snack bar, help in keeping the grounds clean, providing security, etc. Typically we would ask that when volunteering, you would consider a full shift which is 5:30PM – 9:45PM.
The rewards for volunteering are not readily visible but they are real, and we can say in all sincerity that along with the personal satisfaction and an opportunity to give back to your community, many boys and girls, parents, guardians, family members and coaches to name a few, will all truly appreciate your efforts. You will also have an opportunity to participate in key decisions that are made for the betterment of MBC, and we believe our Auxiliary Board Members will be a reliable resource when vacant Board Member positions need to be filled.
If you are interested please fill out and detach the following information and pass it to a Board Member or you can e-mail David Le Win at firstname.lastname@example.org or David Carll at email@example.com indicating your interest. If you do not have email, or would like to speak to David Le Win or Steve Trudo in person, please feel free to contact the snack bar at (623) 934-6874 and ask for one of them. Thank you and we hope to hear from you.
